THE SNOW FIELDS The Victorian ski fields are an exhilarating destination and easy drive from Melbourne and are really a year round holiday experience. There are a wide range of skiing opportunities in the winter (July - Sept) and a fantastic nature destination for the rest of the year. Bushwalking, horse trekking, gliding, trout fishing and mountain biking are all on offer during the warmer months. The closest to Melbourne would be Mt Donna Buang for sight seeing and great cross country skiing through Mt Buller, Mt Hotham, Falls Creek and on up into the snowy mountains on the NSW/ACT border.
